There's a slight possibility that Inception has taken over my life.  No, not slight, very strong.  In fact, at this point, there's no doubt that it's taken over my life.

Oh my god, it's taken over my life 0_0 and I do not mind at all.  I don't know how long this obsession will last (maybe until the end of this year?) but it's safe to say that I may go see the film again, just because.  (And I want the DVD very badly.  Just to see what extras are on it.  And to watch the film again.)

I think I've been spending too much time on the Internet.  That's why I'm not watching TV a lot.  (I'm also reading a lot.  So Internet and reading are to blame.)

Life, the universe, and everything else (42!)

A quick little run-down on what's been happening in my life so far:

-I'm almost out of community college.  Yay!  Just two more days of torture (especially philosophy--I hate the subject.  It's just...all thoughts and no concrete evidence to back up theories.  At least in anthropology I can go out into society and observe people and that's my evidence right there for theories but philosophy is so abstract and it frustrates me so so much.  And I liked the anthropological class on religion over the philosophical class on religion.  I think I can write a paper on how they're so different from each other even though both classes are about religion).

-I decided to go to UCI.  Because it's closer to home.  And I don't think I can handle living in a dorm room, personally.  (I can handle it, I think.  I just don't think I'd particularly like it all that much.  My space=mine.  And, hell, I like living at home in my own room with my own computer and I've heard horror stories about dorm rooms in the past from some friends and I don't want to go through that.)

Plus, because it's closer to home, why live there if I can easily commute (such as by bus, because parking will probably be undoubtedly complicated) and save money in the long run.

Plus I can minor or major in European studies.  UCSB only had a major for medieval studies, which seeemed pretty limited, if I wanted to double major or major and minor for anthropology and European studies.  And UCLA--IDK about the classes there.  I just like the European studies more because, if I decide to do something with that, it'll be more broader than narrow.  And I like that idea.

-behind on TV shows.  But I'm okay with that.  And I don't feel like catching up on NCIS: LA so all I've been watching is Merlin and Doctor Who and, on BBC America even though I have it on my computer, Ashes to Ashes.  (They aren't using subtitles!  I remember when they'd spontaneously use subtitles.  They're improving.  Now if they'd not cut the episode down and air it in its entirety, then it'd be awesome, and if it'd get out of its 'show repeats of random reality shows' funk then I'd like the channel.)

-I haven't mentioned how much I like Amy on Doctor Who, have I?  Because I like Amy.  She's awesome.  Oh, and the new Doctor is awesome too, but Amy :D

-Merlin's still cute.  (The show, not the character.  Although Colin Morgan is still cute.)(But the show is just cute and adorable.  And fun.)

-Shows I'll watch this summer: The Gates (IDK what it is about but I've heard it involves the supernatural of some kind so I'm all, 'Yay non-drama-like show!  Paranormal type of show!'  I'll check it out), The Bridge (it stars Aaron Douglas from BSG and I've always had a soft spot for Tyrol in seasons 1 and 2 of BSG so I'll check it out), The Good Guys (it's made by Matt Nix who did Burn Notice so I'm putting all my faith and trust into the assumption that if Nix created something as awesome as Burn Notice then The Good Guys will be as awesome.  Or at least good), Burn Notice (got season 3 on DVD today and I haven't seen most of season 3.  And I've forgotten what went on in season 1 and 2.  This calls for a marathoning of the show in the future.  Which will be really fun.  If there's a show that's fun to marathon, it's Burn Notice.  It's the explosions and action and the characters that make it fun), White Collar, Psych (as if I would put it off my schedule.  As if.  In an alternate parallel universe my parallel-self would even watch it because it's that awesome and cool), Being Human, and Eureka.  Oh, yes, I forgot about Covert Affairs.  I want to check that out as well.  If it's anything like White Collar and Burn Notice, then I'll probably like Covert Affairs.  (Again with that faith and trust that if USA has other good shows that I like then I'll probably like something else that it has.  It didn't work so well with Royal Pains, though.  I didn't really get attatched to that show as much as Burn Notice, White Collar, or Psych.)

-and then I read about this show that stars Callum Keith Rennie and it's called Shattered and I'm so hoping some American network will show it (it's Canadian.  Well, Canadian-made show and will be shown on a Canadian channel, from what I've read, but no word yet on American channels) because it stars CKR.  I liked Leoben in BSG because CKR played him.  And the show seems interesting.  (Because it stars CKR.  Shallow?  Me?  Why, yes, maybe.)

-there are these land communites on LJ that sometimes focus on a show and there are contests and games in those communities and it's helped me break out of my shell of shyness on the Internet.  (My shell of shyness extends to the Internet.  One reason I don't leave comments: I'm shy.  Well, sort of self-conscious/shy of leaving comments and I don't know why.  It's not that I don't like anyone that I don't leave comments, I'm just...hesitant.  I so don't know what my problem is...) but yes, I've been participating like crazy this weeek in the one I'm in, trying to help my team win because I'm like that, and I've been doing challenges I wouldn't normally do otherwise.

In other news, I got a lava lamp.  Yay!  My inner hippy self is satisfied.

Um...I still need to watch Merlin from Sunday.

I finished watching season 3 of Stargate Atlantis.  I don't think I could've handled watching it live.  All the season finales end with a 'To Be Continued'.  I would've hated waiting for the next season.  Which is why I like getting caught up with shows on DVD.  And Rodney grew to be my favorite character.  After Carson, you know, (should I put this behind a cut?  Does everyone know what happens to Carson?) died.  I like John as well.  And Ronon's grown on me too.  As well as Weir.  Don't like Teyla for some reason :/

Hopefully after I finish getting caught up with Burn Notice season 2 I can go back to watching season 4 of SGA.

Oh.  And I made a new icon.  A Battlestar Galactica based one because I like Leoben.

And I am ending this post with:

Dollhouse.

February 13th.

Joss Whedon...and Eliza Dushku.  (And Amy Ackers).  And there's this one guy I've seen in the previews for Dollhouse and I've already got a crush on that character and I have no idea who he is.

But anyways, I am counting down the days, quite anxiously, might I add, to Feb. 13th (it sort of throws me off balance--it's a Friday :/ but I'm not worried for Dollhouse :) not one bit.  Okay, slightly worried, but more hopeful.  I just want two seasons maximum!...please Fox...don't kill it off like you did Firefly...)

Winter break=boring.

Stupid intersession classes getting cancelled; you know, I signed up to take an intersession class last January to avoid the situation I'm in right now.

A situation of extreme boredom.

I finished Bones season 3 in about five days or so (a record; see how bored I was?) and am now on Burn Notice season 1.

I'm contemplating re-watching Battlestar Galactica sometime soon and, what with me being insanely bored these days, contemplating on trying to re-watch all of Firefly + Serenity in a single day.  14 hours of Firefly should=awesome.

Because I'm that bored to try it.

Yep...still bored.

Have I mentioned I'm bored?

...

what the heck, I'll go clean my room :) and my closet.  That should ward(?) off the boredom.  (Hopefully.  I so cannot go to Barnes and Noble again and pick up more books; I'm a bookaholic.  In that I love shopping for books and if I go sometime between now and when school starts I guarantee you I'll probably come away with more books that I actually need to.)

If I ever per-maybe-haps (Firefly reference yay!) apply for a job sometime this year, I'd so want to work at Barnes and Noble or Borders.

Books are awesome.  I love books.  Although I have too many and my bookcase is overflowing with books :/ I need a bigger book case.

Another thing that are awesome: ballloons.  My Disneyland one is still up and floating although it looks a bit dehydrated :/ it's only another matter of weeks before he goes down.  Until then, I'll enjoy my balloon (although I'm rather tired of it being up--when will it drop?!).

I am so contemplating doing pit choir for the church musical this year.

Talking about awkwardness (okay, I wasn't, but it's leading up to a story of extreme akwardness), the other Sunday someone joined choir (she was an alto; in fact, two altos joined that day.  Alto power!).

Turns out it was someone my mom had baby-sat for 10+ years back.

She's in ninth grade now but when she came in I was all, 'Oh crap, awkward'.  I don't know why; it just felt weird :/ and makes me feel slightly old.  But it was more awkward than anything.  Hopefully she won't remember me.  Or doesn't.  Or doesn't remember my name really when I wear my church name tag this Sunday.

So today I went to Barnes and Noble and picked up volume 2 of Angel: After the Fall.  Now I'm more or less caught up with Angel "season 6" at the moment.

A little bit less, actually.

I've just been getting the TPB/THBs of Buffy/Angel respectively, and haven't really been getting the latest issues as they are coming out, so I'm not all the way caught up with Buffy "season 8" and Angel "season 6" (see, I'm putting them in quotations, becausse they aren't really seasons.  I mean they're continuations of Buffy and Angel, but in comic book form, and aren't really seasons).

Which reminds me.

I must confess that I haven't been watching Supernatural this season at all.  I think my interest in it is waning.  Don't know why, but I haven't had any interest in seeing the episodes this season.  I mean I taped the season premiere, but I've had no interest in watching it so far.

I've been watching this show on BBCA called Primeval.  It's good so far.  I've caught the first episode when it aired and sort of missed some episodes and now I'm watching it again.  What the show lacks in special effects the strong characters make up for.  I like the characters so much in the show.
