It's the end of week 4 of summer school. Halfway done. After this week there's only four more weeks. (Or, in other words, about a month until school ends, 20 more days of school.) So far I've been doing well in the class. I've gotten B's on all my quizzes so far. Though the only issue I have with the class is that it's so technological. We take quizzes on-line and so that isn't really challenging. So far we've had two quizzes that were entirely multiple choice and multiple choice tests are somewhat easy and so I just feel as if the class, other than going extremely fast, it just isn't testing me other than remembering things.
Though the oral part of the tests definitely test you on speaking and vocabulary so that's good.
I just have to get a C or better in the class for it to fulfill my language requirement so I'm not aiming for an A but rather a B.
Anyway, thought I'd make a post because I need to and I want to.
First, the 100 Thing Challenge? I keep on forgetting about that. (I should make it a point to do that at least once a week or else I'll just forget about it completely.)
So, the 3rd (out of 10) subject/topic that I love: medieval history.
( Where I ramble about medieval history )
And now let's move onto TV show and movies.
1: Deadliest Catch--still watching the new episodes because the show is my favorite reality show ever and it's a very addictive show.
A couple of things I loved from last night's episode:
Jonathan with a shotgun going outside and shooting at the ice just to relieve tension and frustration. That had me lol-ing. It seems as if the Time Bandit is basically a college dorm or a frat house on the ocean. The two Hillstrands never fail to cheer me up when they're on TV because they always seems so upbeat.
I also liked Edgar saving the Northwestern from the slack tank problem. And then he and Jake A. went into the tank and all the water was coming at them from above.
2. Due South--started re-watching this show but I'm starting from season 3 because I was re-watching a Highlander episode from season 2 that had Callum Keith Rennie in it and that reminded me of Due South.
(Pretty soon I'll probably re-watch BSG, just to see CKR as Leoben, and maybe that one Supernatural episode he was in.)
But yes, Due South--I really forgot how awesome the show is. Sure, sometimes it's cheesy, but it's one of those nostalgic shows I love. It reminds me of my childhood and that's why I love it so much.
3. Highlander--like I said, I started re-watching this show (starting at season 2) and I forgot how awesome Richie was and I even liked Tessa better now that I'm older rather than when I was younger (I hated her when I was younger, for some reason IDEK).
4. Little Shop of Horrors--I recently re-watched this film with my friend (who had never seen it before last Saturday). It's a really great movie. It's a musical. It's also sci-fi. It's also a romance (in a way). And a comedy movie.
And the movie is seriously awesome, guys. I just can't even comprehend about the awesomeness of the film.
It's directed by Frank Oz, so that's awesome, but it also stars so many famous comedians: Rick Moranis, for one thing, Steve Martin (if you haven't seen the Dentist scene from the musical, I suggest you watch it), John Candy (love that guy), Bill Murray (love that guy even more and I love his scene with Steve Martin), and James Belushi.
It's like a reunion and gathering of people from SCTV and SNL. I'm just so amused, for some reason, by the cast XD but then again, that's just me.

5. Other shows--I just finished watching the Farscape episode Crackers Don't Matter, which, thus far, is probably my favorite episode of season 2. The first episode of season 2 was okay, the 2nd and 3rd episodes were just really bad, IMO, but Crackers Don't Matter was just better. Which I was happy with.
I've also been watching Hex, this British TV show (that had been often compared to Buffy when it [Hex] first came out in the early 2000s. Or sometime in that decade). It's a good show, IMO. But, then again, I just like anything British so I'm a tiny bit biased when I say that it's good.
But I do like the characters in the show. Especially Thelma and Ella.
I'm also re-watching Red Dwarf (in preparation for series X when it airs in October. I think it's October).
( Red Dwarf trailer )
Also, there's Trust Us With Your Life, a new improv show. It was made by the same guys who made the original Whose Line Is It Anyway and features some of the same improv guys from that show. And it's really funny. I like it. It's not exactly Whose Line because nothing can ever really be Whose Line but it's just as good. (I do miss the whole Ryan and Colin thing though.)
This past week I've started rollerskating again after having gone to Santa Monica Pier and seeing all these people skating around. So I was inspired to dig out my old roller skates and start taking up skating again.
And then I figured why not skate with my dog because he's small and can keep up.
Um...it's fun. The first day wasn't all that good but we've progressed. Sometimes he pulls me along. Especially through the dip in the road when I'm too afraid of going through the dip because I'm afraid of falling. IDEK.
(The other day we came to a dip in the road and there was a stream of water going across the road and Finnegan is absolutely terrified of water. He won't go on dewy grass in the morning, he hates baths, and he hates getting his paws wet in general when there's a puddle of water. If he can, he usually jumps across the stream or puddle of water lol. I've never seen such a dog who was scared of water.)
Anyway, so there was a tiny stream of water and as usual Finnegan slows down because he wants to jump over and I slow down because I don't want to fall by going too fast through the dip in the road.
We must have looked really funny.
I've had to give up yoga because I've been too busy with school to go but I'm hoping to go back again when school ends in August. I've missed the whole meditative aspect of yoga.
Speaking of classes, the guitar class I've signed up for is going well. I know how to play the Em, G, D, and A chords. And I'm getting comfortable with strumming up and down using a pick.
Also this site offers free classes from universities. I found the link through Geek and Sundry on Facebook (Felicia Day's company or whatever) and I figured why not sign up for the sci-fi class because I love being extremely busy and stressed out when I already have a stressful class.
(I hate not being busy, even if I do complain if I am too busy. I'd rather be too busy than not busy enough.)
So, that's what I've been doing. Hopefully next week I can post. I'll have to remind myself to do it.
