Seriously, I need to come up with better things to put in the subject header. I'm so depressed, I can't even come up with a witty subject title. Well, not depressed, more like '...that's all I could come up with?'. Yeah...
I think I'm starting to like the Shakespeare class I'm taking :D we're reading Taming of the Shrew right now and I so totally like it so far. And what's better about the class is that, unlike high school where we had to find themes and whatnot in the books that we read then, in this class, well, on Wednesday night the teacher asked, 'So what interesting stuff did you find out in the introduction?' And some people answered and then we, as a class, read some parts from the acts we were assigned to read...not once did the teacher mention a theme, or anything...and most of what I learned about Taming of the Shrew came form my reading of the introduction to the play (which was long and lengthy, but very interesting to read). So...I don't know, it was the second night of the class anyway, but if the class is going to be like this constantly, where all we need to know comes from our reading of the introduction and any other stuff in the book (it's the Bedford edition, where they have a lenghty introduction, the play, and then any supplementary materials which are focused on Taming of the Shew, which I'm looking forward to read, the material after the play that is, because they are assigned to read and everything), then I am just going to love this class. (Because themes are too boring...well, trying to find them is. I just don't like analyzing novels/plays that much, finding out what something stands for and everything.)
And the books for the Shakespeare class that I had to get where Taming of the Shrew, The Merchant of Venice, The Winter's Tale, The Tempest, A Midsummer's Night Tale, Twelfth Night, and As You Like It. And most of those plays I didn't read (well, all of them, in fact) so that's also why I'm pretty excited for the Shakespeare class, because I'm readiing plays I haven't read yet. (In high school the five plays of Shakespeare I did read were Romeo and Juliet, which I despised with a passion, a passion also shared by Khrystina, Much Ado About Nothing, Julius Caesar, Macbeth, and Hamlet.)
So the Hollywood Video store near me was closing, and they were having a big sale yesterday, so I rushed over from school to get to the place before they closed (they didn't! Which I knew they wouldn't, but still...). Anyway, oh my gosh, they had everything for sale. And everything was a percentage off (including all the candy and stuff!). And they had DVDs of Bones for sale (only 2 discs, wth? and now I'm using Internet speak. Oh joy). And Dead Like Me (I seriously debated getting the Pilot episode, but then I would have gotten the other discs, and it was cash only, no credit cards, and I probably didn't have enough money to get all the discs of Dead Like Me that they had). They also had some discs of Buffy and Angel (which I already had). But no Firefly (they had it to rent earlier! What happened to it?). They also had Smallville (only 3 discs), Tru Calling (which I already had), The X-Files, Lost...some other TV shows...overall, comparing Hollywood Video to Blockbuster is like comparing Barnes and Noble to Borders. To me, I prefer Borders way over Barnes and Noble because Borders has more books that I wouldn't be able to find at Barnes and Noble. This one time when I was in Virginia, we went to a Blockbuster, and they had Highlander to rent...the TV show. Something that the Hollywood Video in my town so totally doesn't even have. So yeah. I haven't visited Blockbuster in my town since ever recently, so I can't really compare them now, but back then, it would've been Blockbuster > Hollywood Video. And Borders also wins over Barnes and Noble, for that matter.
Okay, so initially I wanted Across the Universe (which, good movie, despite all the colorful scenes during some parts of the movie), but I couldn't find that. Not at all. Which depressed me. So then I found Waitress (yay Nathon Fillion!), and then, surprisingly, I found White Noise 2 (yay Nathan Fillion and Katee Sackhoff!), and then I saw a copy of Slither (yay Nathan Fillion!) and Serenity (which I already had, but still, yay Nathan Fillion!) Conclusion? I don't know, but apparently I saw a lot of movies which starred Nathan Fillion that were available to buy last night.
To get past all the Nathan Fillion talk (and as for Serenity, I found that in the horror section. It was in the horror section. It's supposed to be science fiction. I mean, sure, the cover may be a but horrific, it being all a not good, horrific cover, but still, that's no excuse at all for it to be iin the horror section. I debated putting it in the science fiction section, but was too afraid in case someone saw me moving it, so I didn't do it, and it's probably still sitting in the horror section), I got a few movies (besides Across the Universe. But I already talked about that, didn't I?) So I got Waitress, White Noise 2 (good movie. Watched it last night. Liked it. Was so scared during one part that I covered my eyes), and Midnight Cowboy (hadn't seen it yet, but whenever Mom talks about Jon Voight she always mentions him being in Midnight Cowboy, I decided to get it. She hadn't seen the movie either, so I have no idea if I'll like the movie or not. But hey...I'll try it anyways).
So that was my day yesterday. Filled with lots of school, movies, school...Supernatural (which very good episode. If I may say so myself).
