I've been baby sitting my neighbor's cats (who, I just learned about two weeks ago, she works at UCI.  Imagine my surprise when I ran into her on campus.  Imagine my insistence that she not drive me to school if she ever passes by me when I'm walking to the bus stop and she's going to work.  Really.  I love the bus.  That's my only chance to read as peacefully as I can, ironically.  As I usually hate reading when there's noise about but the bus is just so relaxing to read in).

Their house is being painted at the moment, so the cats, who are household/indoor cats, are really confined, and probably spooked

(And the neighbor wrote up all these specific rules--like keep them confined to a certain area during the nighttime, and during the daytime they can roam around the house, unless they're found to be on the living room furniture, and then I'm supposed to restrict their daytime area to be similar to their nighttime area.

I'm not kidding.  I feel sorry for the cats but I'm getting paid for taking care of them and following the rules.  IDK.)

(And it's a lot of money, might I add, for taking care of them for about nine days.)

So what do you get with cats who have painters around them coming in and out and a restricted area because they were found on the living room furniture?  Angry cats.

This morning instead of corralling them into the specified area I decided to be lenient and allow them to roam.

Only because their tails were twitching like mad, and, yesterday evening when I tried to put one in the specified area, he bit and scratched me.

My hand?  Hurts.  It's my right hand.  (And he broke the skin :/ I've got anti...whatever to ward off any chance of infection.  Doesn't make the pain go away.)

In other news, it's the second day of spring quarter.  Math class went well (there was no discussion class because there was nothing to discuss so I got home early).  Today I have 3 classes with 10 minutes to get from one class to another, and apparently, even though there was no discussion section class to sign up for, my anthro teacher and the TA are proposing adding one.  Hopefully that works out well and the section fits with my schedule.

To go back to the cat thing again: in all honesty, I don't blame the cat, or myself (well, I kinda blame myself for not seeing the signs of an agitated kitty).  I was able to carry the cat once during the weekend, and yesterday the painters were back, so they were, needless to say, a bit freaked.  I would be too if I were them.

I got caught up with Being Human.

Spoilers for Being Human )

Lately I've been on an 'watch old films, specifically those that star Paul Newman or James Dean' kind of fix, so I'm a bit obsessed with James Dean atm.  I have no idea how it happened considering how when I first saw Rebel Without a Cause about three years back or so I thought it was a bit silly/dated/unimpressive.  IDK.  My tastes in films change.  Harold and Maude is a prime example--hated it when I first watched it, loved it when I actually realized how good it was.

I've been renting more films from Netflix (so happy I have my own account...) and I've been writing my thoughts on films I've seen mostly on Facebook so I'm just gonna copy and paste them to here...there's also reviews for Paul, in case you haven't seen it and don't want to be spoiled.

East of Eden )

Alien )

Exodus )

Spoilers for the film Paul are ahead, so beware.  This is your final warning.

Next up in my parade of classical films is Harvey.  It comes tomorrow from Netflix and I'm quit eager to see it.
