I'm back
They didn't have Internet access up there at all--turns out the phone line got all torn up or something like that, so I suffered without Internet (relaxing, actually--I went on the Internet Cafe in a computer center to check my e-mail, so...yeah). Anyway, I didn't write a lot of stuff to add to any entries about the trip--I only wrote two entries: the day we left and today :D I write a lot on vacations, I know!

Anyway, first entry I wrote on paper:

July 29
I will transfer this to my laptop [note: as if! I didn't even do that during the entire trip!] later, you know. We're in the car at 11:52, dad driving, me in the backseat w/ mom and we are cramped back here. I'm passing time by either reading, listening to music, or sleeping--oh joy, oh fun. I think I'll continue w/ reading as writing is getting a bit hectic now--bumpy road and all. Stuff I saw today I though you might enjoy hearing about--Scully (a name on the side of a truck--think X-Files, cattle (I was looking out the window [note: my favorite pasttime while on a long trip in the car] and saw eyes staring at me--sort of freaky at the moment I saw them), and State Prisons for Women-Next Exit (...yeah, I'm wondering, too! [Note: about the sign and the...never mind, I was tired when I wrote that statement in parentheses!]).

[Note: at this point on, I was attempting to write a Sentinel-fic--it obviously failed, as I had lack of insperation sitting in the car looking out the window. I will post the first two lines I wrote of the 'story'.]
"Where is this place, Jim?" Blair Sandburg asked, squinting against the blinding rays of the sun as he turned to face the road.
"Only a couple more miles, Cheif."

[Note: ta da! There you have it--not good, huh? I'll work on it, I'll work on it...as if.]

Ha! We just went to Costco, are now driving, listening to the Beatles [note: Kelly is now completely addicted to Maxwell's Silver Hammer, as am I--freaky, sort of, as the song does talk about a serial killer...I will not kill, I will not kill...I am sane...], and me w/ my latte freeze and mystery novel And Then There Were Nonw by Agatha Christie--very wonderful so far [note: I actually finished the novel--very surprising twist! I never imagined the judge to be the killer of all those people! I'm still trying to figure everything out--may have to reread the ending of the letter again.]

I saw golf clubs--and immediately thought of Garett Maggart-- he golfs, you see (as well as Adam Baldwin--might have them to get together and golf it out on a course! Imagine that...yes, I have a fixation on Garett--I can't help it! He's so adorable, especially when he said, in the Cascade Con. DVD about why he doesn't want to hold the microphone to his mouth--"It just makes me want to sing!", which he says is one of his greatest fears...sure, Garett, sure...) [note: sorry about ranting--it's not as if I'm stalking each one of my favorite actors...I'm not that crazy, not like those really obsessive fans out there. I just admire them from afar, like the Internet :/ never would I stalk them.]

Today:
Well, okay, guess updating daily failed. There was absolutely no Internet, so we depended on the Internet cafe for all checking up of e-mail. Anyway, I had a fun time this year--lots of crafts + swimming.

Highlight of the trip: well, the Chip Salad, a new trend Keenan started (he told me to try it at home--all I did was nod, like...'okay'). Grandma said we were a nutty family--I told her it was okay to be nutty. Merry roomed with me this year (it was supposed to be seperate rooms, but Carrie and Allison came, they wanted to room together, so Merry had to leave her room and room with me, for not very long. I got used to it. The bridge contest--I so missed the picture taking opportunity! The contesters were Kyber, Colin, Micah, and Merry. All of the first three bridges survied, Merry's collasped on the fourth cup of sand :) next it was destruction time: Colin's and Kyber's both collapsed under the weight of the rocks. Micah built an interesting bridge that, under extreme pressure, obviously buckles to the side, it explands, and so that really helped the bridge not collapse for well...never. It never did!

Colin was going to do another contest, but we didn't do it--darn! We had a Crouching Tiger/Hidden Dragon game, where we all got a number. When our number was called, we went up and got a wrapped object marked Female, Male, or Female/Male. We open it for all to see and another object is called, it's another round. The person whose number is called either steals the object the first person got or get an object from the table. The maximum for stealing in a round is two time--after that, it's done until the next round in which a number is called. This goes on and on. The person to get a tiger or a dragon can steal an object in which the object can't be stolen from them at all--it's theirs to keep. Otherwise, the person with the tiger or dragon gets 20 bucks :) I orignally had a manicure set with nail polish, but I already had a manicure set and traded it with Merry's soap to make soap at home.

We went on the gondola again, dad, me, and Kelly, with Matt also. I went shopping--learned how to knit, got some more fur covered mini cats and made lots of crafts (zen garden...I need to complete making the book).

We watched the movies National Treasure, Singin' in the Rain, The Incredibles, and A Mighty Wind (weird movie, but totally funny...weird in a brain-sucking 'I don't get it' way but you still want to watch it just because you're bored--not one that I recommend to spend money on, but it was good).

Journey--playing this Saturday at Lake Tahoe and did we stay? No...we didn't...which depressed me...also The Eagles, as in Hotel California, are playing at the end of August at Lake Tahoe...and did we stay??...no...darn...
