I've really been meaning to update during winter break.  But I was lazy then, so I didn't, so I'm updating now, after winter break.

It was a good break.  I had finals a bit earlier so I was finished with school earlier and so I started my break earlier, and all I did during break was just basically nothing.  All I really did was read and watch TV.  I got to hang out with my friend though (more on that later).

My birthday was good.  I got an iPad mini, which, really, is quite amazing.  It's sort of a replacement for the mini laptop I had that had died (well, something happened to it: a graphic glitch or something, which my brother said he wouldn't be able to fix).  Plus it has Kindle and Nook :D so I was able to get all the Nook books I had purchased a couple summers ago and all the free Kindle books?  Is awesome :D

though I totally still love buying books and the feel of books in my hands.  I'm not totally set on digital now.  Although it does help when I don't want to be holding a thousand-page book (Wise Man's Fear book, for example, or...actually, that's the only heavy book I have.  And maybe Harry Potter, but I never tend to read that on the bus and I only read that at home.  But Wise Man's Fear, when I had been reading that one quarter, I took it with me to school and it was just incredibly heavy.  So I can see digital replaced heavy hardback books).

My friend got me a quill pen and ink set, a Harry Potter artifact kit thing (with replica 'props' from the films), and a bunch of books that allows you to design your own knight, castle, helmet, and shield (because she knows how much I love medieval stuff).  (Half of it was birthday gifts and the other half was a Christmas gift.)

Christmas was also nice.  I got a pair of Ugg-type boots that replaced the older ugg boots that I had.  And they're much nicer, as well.  I also got a lovely pendant with a Celtic design on it.

I saw The Hobbit.  I had trouble liking the film, but that's only because I saw it in 48 FPS in 3-D and it seemed as if everyone was moving at superhuman speed.  I got used to the high frame rate and after that I found myself really liking the film.  So much so that I saw it a second time.  It's really different from LotR--it's more light-hearted and fun and Kili is just totally awesome (only because he's played by Aiden Turner, whom I really loved in Being Human).  And Martin Freeman is just perfect as Bilbo.  I just loved him in the film.  It's just the 48 FPS issue--I had trouble getting used to that.

I've read the book before, although that was a long time ago, and I can barely remember anything from it, but I do remember being bored by it.  (As well a LotR.  Although now that I'm older, I'm reading LotR and I'm actually not bored by it, so I think it was purely an age thing, with being bored by the books.)

Then there's New Years.  My original plan was to go to Disneyland with my friend, but she found out she was working that day, so I suggested that we go to my grandma's house and hang out there for the night.  Because my grandma was on a trip and the house was just sitting there being unused.

It was quite good.  It was just my brother, my friend, and me.  We watched some films and some shows and we counted down to the New Year.  Then the next morning we had breakfast at Denny's :D they're doing (or they were doing, don't know if they're doing it anymore) a Hobbit-themed meal and so we got a Hobbit-related breakfast :D it was cute.  Just the names for some of the food.  For the Ring Burger they had onion rings on top of the burger to symbolize the ring.  And they had some type of food named after Radagast.  And Bilbo's breakfast, or something like that.

As for school, the winter quarter's just started.  One week's already passed and already it feels as if it's week five.  I'm taking four classes this quarter, though all of them require reading of some sort, so it feels like more.  I just need to work on time management so that way I don't feel so stressed out this quarter.  Though most of the classes seem pretty interesting--I'm taking an art history class about Islamic art and architecture, a comparative literature class about witches in literature (we get to read Harry Potter!), medieval philosophy (which, really, I don't like philosophy, but I have to take the class because it fulfills a requirement), and a Russian film class.

And then there's land comms--I'm so happy about [livejournal.com profile] wlreunion starting.  I haven't been doing anything land comm-ish recently so to get back into that whole thing feels good.

I really should try to update at least once a week.  I really don't want to get into the habit of updating once a month.

So another birthday came and went :/

Tuesday was my birthday (last Tuesday--the 20th) and, as far as actual celebrating went, it was low-key, like always.  I went out to a late lunch/early dinner with my family, then came home and opened presents, and then my friend stopped by, which, personally, was probably the one thing that really made yesterday fun.

She gave me a bunch of Beatles items (because she knows that I don't know the Beatles as well as I probably should.  I have a Beatles shoulder bag that I got in London and when she first saw that bag she assumed I was a massive Beatles fan.  I'm not.  And then she proceeded to quiz me on which Beatles member was which and I failed at that.

Mind you, this was a couple months ago.  Since then I tried to learn which Beatles member was which, which, really, all I needed to do was pick out Ringo Starr from the rest in a photograph.

But yes, I'm way behind on my Beatles knowledge, whereas when it comes to Jethro Tull I basically know everything about them).

TL;DR I don't know as much about the Beatles as I would like to know and I've only listened to about 30 of their songs rather than all their songs. I respect The Beatles for who they are and what they've done for society and culture but I'm not a massive fan of theirs despite having a Beatles shoulder bag..

And my friend happens to be a massive Beatles fan.  And I gave her a Beatles shoulder bag as well (for her birthday, which had been in November), which she absolutely loved.

I also got a few Jethro Tull CDs.  A Passion Play, Minstrel in the Gallery (which is probably my favorite album of theirs), and Stand Up.  I already bought A Passion Play and Minstrel in the Gallery from iTunes but I really wanted the actual CD.  Because I loved the music that much that I think it deserves to be a part of my CD collection.  Usually I just download music and then the music I really like I buy the CD of it (oh god that sentence sounds so grammatically wrong.  Whatever).

It makes my brother mad, him knowing that I download music the 'improper way' but, IMO, you can't really get a feel for the music from 30 second clips of songs.

I finally got a bag holder for all my bags.  It's actually a think that goes on the door and has all these hooks and I'm sort of putting bags on half the hooks and scarves on the other half.  Maybe I'll also put my various hats on it :/ but I really needed it since I have so many shoulder bags and they had been hanging from my doorknob.  (And my scarves had been stashed in one of the dresser drawers.)

As far as TV shows are concerned, I'm getting caught up on Merlin at the moment.  I haven't watched HIMYM since October but I want to get caught up with that sometime in the future.  The epic Buffy re-watch, which I had stopped during finals and after, due to me playing Skyrim all the time, is slowly getting back in gear.

I just re-watched Halloween, which had always been my favorite episode.  And Reptile Boy--maybe it's because I'm older but I didn't find it all that much cheesy.  IDK.  It's the cheesy episodes of Buffy that make me cringe.  I Robot, You Jane, for example, which I'm classifying as a 'don't re-watch' episode in case I want to re-watch season 2 again in the future.

(Yes, I do that.  I have a list of the episodes and I put a minus next to episodes to skip for any future epic re-watches and pluses for the most important episodes that contribute to the overall storyline/plot of the season and stars for my favorite.)

As far as Christmas went, it was sort of okay.  Stuff happened (personal family stuff that I won't go into details with here).  Basically, it sort of started bad but ended good so...yeah.

My friend gave me a spinning Tardis toy for Christmas, as well as a Stargate Atlantis Rodney McKay t-shirt.  I swear she knows me so well.

And now it's no longer Christmas but I still want to keep that holiday spirit alive.

I also need to finish the White Christmas film.

One thing I want to get done in the how ever many days I have left (I go back to school January 9th): my Red Dwarf mood theme.  And maybe the James Dean mood theme I've been working on since, IDK, spring?  Summer?  Both of them.  I also want to finish BtVS season 2 as well.  Before school starts again.  And maybe Skyrim, so I won't be obsessing over it still when school start.

First, thank you so much [livejournal.com profile] boheme06 for the virtual snowflake :)

Second, it's almost Christmas.  Wow.  Where did all of December go?

Third, got a C in calculus, thank God.  I thought I was going to fail that class.  But I'm happy I succeeded (or at least passed it) in the class because I'm not taking math next year (it conflicts with choir practice on Thursday nights) and I wanted to at least not fail a class.  (Considering how I got an F on the last test before the final, I was very worried).  I also got three A's and a B.  Overall, I think I did fairly well :) so I'm happy about that.

Fourth, I have a month and three weeks off until spring semester starts again.  Either I can attempt to work up my courage, walk into Barnes and Noble and ask if they're accepting applications or not, or I can take up a massive awesome knitting project.  I'll try both.  (I have this fear of asking people things.  IDK why.  I just do.)

I may also finish The Dresden Files series in my spare time and go through at least many other books.  If I'm not catching up on TV shows either on DVD or on my DVR.

Overall, I have free time.  I'm bound to be bored.

Fifth, my birthday was on Sunday and we had the Festival of Christmas Music at church (a weekend long concert.  One performance on Saturday night and on Sunday it was the regular singing in the morning plus two more performances in the evening).  Needless to say, I was totally exhausted Monday.  But I managed to squeeze in some fun for myself on Sunday between 11 AM and 3 PM.  I went off to Disneyland with my dad, got a birthday button, got annual passes (the last time I had annual passes was when I was 5, I believe.  That was so long ago.  It's fun having passes again), and then went back off to church.

Monday was more the day of fun for my birthday.  I opened presents, went to Disneyland again (just because I could), and relaxed.

Birthday cake )

Anyway, I've got all presents wrapped and under the tree.

Also, thing I learned: people from the south barely decorate around outside the house for Christmas?  (My mom is from Virginia and when she moved out here she would make fun of all the decorations.  Hell, I would do.  Inflatible Santas?  They may look fun, but I wouldn't want one in the front yard.)  Or, from what my mom told me, they would put lights in the windows and not do any serious/heavy decorations with lights like we do.  (Also inflatible snow globes with actual 'snow' in the 'globe' that would swirl around.  Looks fun from a distance.)

I really want to visit Virginia again and get in touch with my Southern roots.  And visit Colonial Williamsburg.  It must look really pretty in the winter with snow and everything.

Tomorrow I'm planning on hitting the bookstore for some personal shopping (like, say, a new copy of Catcher in the Rye) and maybe a few extra presents for the family if I see anything good.

Also, knitted my dog a sweater!  I need to take pictures and post them up, but he looks so cute in it.  I doubt if he'll ever need it, as lately it's been more windy than chilly, but there could be a time when it's really cold and he'll need it.  So at least I know he has a sweater if he's really cold and he can use it.  Or I can make him use it.  I tried it on him when I finished it and he wasn't attacking the yarn, so that's good.

Right now I'm finishing up a scarf and I'm also in the middle of knitting arm warmers.  I don't know when I'm ever going to use them, but they looked pretty and I wanted to knit the pretty and use a cable needle.

Until next time, hopefully everyone has a happy holiday/merry Christmas/feliz navidad/happy Haunakah/Kwanza/(I think I covered all my bases for holidays, right?).

It's finally December

It smells slightly like Christmas and holidays and the end of school (in 3 weeks. I am so thankful it's almost going to end).

:/ I have been busy last month. NaNoWriMo, numerous projects which I still have this month (one due next Tuesday for English, but I think I can get out 7-10 pgs worth of material for the paper), real life stuff.

This month also looks to be quite busy until I'm finsihed with school/holiday stuff. Good thing is I'm about half-way done with Christmas shopping :) I bought my cat and dog a stocking for each of them, because my dog gets too many toys each year and doesn't play with about half of them :/ so I bought him a stocking and a large toy. Meanwhile, I'm knitting a dog sweater for him for his birthday (Dec. 19), which hopefully I'll get finished with before his birthday comes along.

(Sad that his birthday is a day before mine :/ we didn't plan it that way, we just bought him at the pet store and we happened to see his birthday was Dec. 19.)

Anyway, I always do this Christmas gift meme thing. I'll try to get gifts for everyone else this year, if I can. I can't really make any promises, though. But I'll try.

Rules

1. Make a post to your LJ. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from something simple and fandom-related to something really big. The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

2. Surf around your friends list to see who has posted their list. If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy.

3. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Oh my gosh, it's almost December.

Yay?

That's it; next semester (2 weeks left of this semester!!) I will:

A. Not take a 7:00 AM math class.  Or any other class, for that matter (that starts at 7 AM, I mean.  I just re-read this part and I was all like, 'No, I will take classes next year!...just not 7 AM ones...;).  For next year is the church musical (re: will be bad.  I know it.  So much less strong singers this year; we've lost Chelsea, Brooke, I think Chris Kuzmich will come back next year which is yay because he's good, but all the female good singers are gone.  Sandy's still around.  Well, not really.  She's assistant director for chapel choir and this is deja vu 'cause I think I talked about this last month in a journal entry but oh well but she's magically also in chapel choir as well.

Helping out the altos.

And then when we practice Buxtehude, and song we're doing for Christmas, Hanan helps the altos out.  Hanan, as in director of choir.

Which is just very sad, IMO, because we don't have that much strong altos.  And everybody doesn't sing out.

Which, I know, guilty here.  I don't sing quite that loud.  Only when other loud people are singing, then I sing loud.  But I'm not a good singer and...I don't know.  But I know I'm the pot calling the kettle black here and I should really stop doing that because I'm black as well.  Or not singing loudly as well.  So...I'll stop.  But seriously, get some more altos in the alto section.  The sopranos have too many people, the altos have none).  And (we're back at school now, the subject of school) I want to get sleep next spring.

B. Don't take 17 units.  It may be fun.  But no.  Take 18 instead!  Actually, I don't know what I'll be taking next year.  I have a general idea, but I still have to make a schedule and all and...registration's next week I think.

And they cut out interesession during January because of budget cuts.  Now what will I do during January?

...

Probably watch TV.  And do housework.  But my mind--it will suffer.  I will read lots of books that month.

C.  There's no C.  Um...I still have to see a counselor and figure out how to transfer, because I still have required classes to take and so it's looking as if I'll be at community college for a 3rd year this time next year.  But note to self: do not be afraid to see counselor.  They're there to help you.

Um...

Meme?

Step One
* Make a post that contains 10 holiday wishes. Your wishes can be anything from simple, fandom-related things (an icon just for you), to medium (a DVD movie), to something really big (new car/computer/house/TV). But just remember; make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
* Just remember, if you wish for real life things, please make sure your address or your email is listed so you can get them!

Step Two
* Surf around to see who has posted their list.
* If you see a wish that you can grant, make them come true!
* Take a few hours and create an icon or write a story for them - even if you think you stink at it. Or, if you have something they’ve wished for and no longer want yours – perhaps a gift certificate – that would be wonderful too!

So tired...
But on the other hand, it's almost the end of November, so yay for that...

On Saturday Kelly and I went over to Susie's house with Monica to celebrate Monica having turned 21 last Monday (which is eerie, because come next August Monica, Susie, and Kelly will all be 21.  And I'll be 19.  Which is just scary.  How I'm friends with older people and younger people but never people of my same age).  And we had pumpkin pie and tea and we talked and it was a lot of fun.  (And there was a lot of pumpkin pie.  Oh, and then Stephanie and Evan dropped by and Stephanie showed us her slide show of her and Evan at Catalina (?) island, which I've never been to, but I so totally want to because it looks so peaceful there.  Anyway, apparently it's been a year already since they've been married.  And this is how I looked when I finally knew that o_O because if it's been already a year, then that year flew by.)

You know what's worse than getting a random song stuck in your head?  Getting Pinkham's Christmas Cantata stuck in your head.  Especially the second movement.  (And this all happened to me after choir on Sunday, and I was all like, 'Get it out of my brain!!'  And you know what's worse?  The second movement starts with altos and sopranos singing and it sounds like medieval singing, at least to me, and so...lots of holding out low notes, which I absolutely love, because singing low notes?  Way easier than singing high notes.  For me, anyway.)  One plus, though, Hanan asked a question that she stated the answer to many times during the rehearsal, and she went to Alex first, and he didn't answer, and then she asked me and and I answered correctly :D now where's my prize?? (just kidding; the prize is satisfaction that I payed attention during practice.)  Oh, and Chris and Kelly and Mallory and I all had this big laugh over this silly little thing.  I like chapel choir.  *sigh* and my friends.  And laughter.

So I guess it's now a month until Christmas.  I broke out all my Christmas CDs, movies, TV shows (like the Tru Calling episode and The X-Files one and the Buffy episode Amends), and broke down and ordered The Muppet Christmas Carol album, since I only have the movie and not the album and it so cannot be Christmas without the album to listen to.

So I'm anxiously waiting for that to arrive.

I've also got a ton of knitting projects to finish, including the one for Monica, that was supposed to be for her birthday, but I'm apparently going to finish it late (considering how her birthday was last Monday).  I've just started a scarf for Shelly as well, which is going a whole lot faster.  (And I've put on The Muppet Christmas Carol and the Tru Calling Christmas episode so far when knitting.  Because I cannot absolutely knit without background music or silence.  Having a movie on is better.)

And the cat came back (oh dear god, now I have that song from childhood stuck in my head now...) today.  Which mom and I are happy about because a) he's finally indoors and b) he's indoors.  Yeah....

now I have to go get ready for class.

Wow. No posts since the 17th?
Where have I been?  I haven't posted since the 17th of December.  All right, granted, it's not one month after I last posted, but a week.  However, between that time on Sunday and today, it's been like an entire month.

First off, on Monday (last Monday, since I'm going to have to recount everything that has happened up to this point) my family and I went out to Ruby's with some grandparents because my grandma's birthday is the 16th of December, and mine the 20th, hence the celebrating of birthdays together.  So we went to Ruby's and then came home to open some presents (of course, I opened half of mine.  I requested that one).  Some things I got was this one cat thing where you pull out one thing and then another and then it's like that one toy from Toy Story.  You pull apart the larger one and you keep on doing that to ones after that until you come to the end and have this tiny little wooden figure.  The name of this object completely escapes me at the moment, so just bear with me, all right?  Anyway, so I got one of those.  It was hand-painted and everything; it wasn't just cats, but it was wild cats.  It's so adorable too.  And I don't know what they call it nowadays.

So, I got one of those and the film 1941, The Best of the Blues Brothers DVD, Briefcase Full of Blues CD, Saturday Night Live season 1, The Once and Future King by T.H. White, and this huge record player/CD player/tape player/radio.  Really; it's so big, but, then again, it's so good.  Now I can play old classical records such as Grease and Don McLean.  I love it.

Then on Tuesday it was basically nothing.  Then on Wednesday, which was my birthday, I went to school.  Well, first I got an ice-blended mocha from Coffee Bean, because I hate--nay, despise--hot coffee.  I don't know why.  Hot coffee just doesn't hit my taste buds right.  I also had a bagel.  And I went to school and I got a present from my friend, which was a blue necklace/choker and a green/brown bracelet that I love so much.  I also got a $20 gift card to Barnes and Noble from my friend on Sunday, because her birthday was also on the 20th, and we usually trade presents.  Well, not usually; this custom began last year by me.  'Cause I wanted to do it.  All right, Wednesday...ah! then I came home that day and found that dad strung up some birthday balloons for me in my room.  Not the big huge birthday balloons; these things just had the words 'Happy Birthday' printed on them.  But he strung some up to my computer chair so I was happy about that.  And they're still tied onto my chair, although they lost their floatiness and helium-ness.

Then we went out to dinner that night to Lone Star restaurant and we watched the cowboys/cowgirls dance and it was fun 'cause dancing cowboys are always so great to watch, especially it you're me and you, for some unfathomable reason, like to watch cowboys dance.  And so we had dinner and came back home and I opened the rest of my presents up ('cause one half I opened on Monday and the other half was saved for Wednesday).  Some things I got: the comic book Fray by Joss Whedon, Ghostbusters I/II, NCIS season two, Oblivion, and an X-Box 360, which I love to bits and pieces.  (I believe a good game such as Oblivion is a diet, of sorts.  Because you're too busy playing it that you don't care about food.  At least to me.)

Thursday consisted of doing pretty much nothing and taking a Physics test, which hopefully I did well on.  'Cause if I didn't, then my instinct really needs a grease and a shine, because usually my instincts prove me right.  On Friday I went to the mall with my mother and we got some See's Candy, and we checked out that one 'Make your own teddy bear' store, and I was able to get a black stuffed dog that I named Blackie in order to honor our dog (who died back in October) and our cat (who died last year during the summer).  Because the stuffed dog is black.  And our dog was black and our cat was black.  So it's an honor to both.  Sort of like a statue.  That you can hug and it barks.  Like Abby's farting elephant in NCIS, which I strangely want one now.

On Saturday me and some friends got together at IHop to exchange gifts.  Some things I got was a Monty Python day-by-day calendar, a Lost calendar, the novel Christmas Shoes from Julie Ta (fa la la), which I have no idea what the book is about but because she got me it, she must think that I would like it.  And I also got these Blues Brothers action figures from Sarah.  And I love them so much.  They look so cool.  And they're action figures, so that's even better.  On Sunday it was singing at midnight at church, which made me more, if possible, energetic, so therefore I stayed up until 2:15 this morning.  But I did get the CD Wicked and a cute little bag of gifts from Khrystina.  (The Wicked CD was from Mallory.)  I also got some socks and a really nice and warm sweater from Susie.  And then this morning was Christmas and I woke to the sound of my father watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.  He insisted that we finish the movie before opening presents, so we did.  And then we opened presents.  And I got some stuff.

Overall, really long post.  But I liked this year.  It seemed as if everyday was filled with me getting a gift in some way.  Of course, I was also very generous; I gave Mallory a scarf for her birthday, which she wore last night/this morning.  Early this morning.  At-midnight-this-morning morning.  So I did good.  I also gave Raissa a scarf, which made her so happy, apparantly, that she, and Karina, walked over to where I sit with my friends just so she could thank me.  So I did something right there.  I also gave Natalie, Julie, and Eric the Jayne hats.  Although Eric broke his (well, he didn't, but it was in his possession, so I'm just blaming him until I figure out what had happened with the hat) and I need to fix it so I can give it back to him on January 2 (the day of the Sci-Fi Club party).  I also gave Sarah the Doyle comic, which she read in that same day.  And it's a better cover than mine, so that's really good, considering that I do have a Doyle poster and she doesn't.  I gave Monica her Gryffindor scarf; Sarah told me that she loves it.  And then I gave Susie a little pin that is in a J shape, that stands for Jesus.  On the little card thing, it read 'Jingle for Jesus', the J being the little pin with a bell at the bottom.  Susie just absolutely loved it.  I think it made her happy and I'm happy at that.  I wanted to get her the J ornament, but when I went to Red Bees they were either out or it had been moved.  In any case, I made Susie happy, and therefore I'm happy.

I'm just thrilled I was able to please everyone this Christmas.  Because last year I didn't really do anything.  And I saw all these other people getting gifts and I was wondering why I couldn't have a friend like that.  And this year, either it's because it's my last year at high school or something like that, but I was in a generous mood.  Rather than wanting to have a friend like that, I could be a friend like that to other people.

It's like something my pastor said last night in his sermon.  He told a story about a guy who recieved a car from his brother.  One day he found a kid, a little kid, looking at the car.  The guy thought he would said, "I wish I could have a brother like that", but the kid said instead, "I wish I could be a brother like that."

And this post is long, and my fingers are cramping, so here's to everyone *raises glass for a toast*:  God bless us everyone and a Merry Christmas!!  (Why, yes, I have been watching A Muppet Christmas Carol!  I also watched the Tru Calling Christmas episode, which I love so much.)

EDIT: Guys, see Night at the Museum.  Such a good movie.

Everybody's talking about how their Christmas went and all, so here I am, jumping on the whole Christmas bandwagon.

First of all, I had to sing...Christmas Eve service, at eleven PM. So that was a first for me and I was very grumpy. I went to bed at 12:16 AM and got up at 5:36 AM, so all day I was trying to supress both my crankyness at lack of sleep and at the fact that I couldn't open presents until after I got home from church.

I only ate a little breakfast that morning and the hot chocolate burned my tongue and Khrystina and I were afraid that Mallory wouldn't show up. Well, she did.

(Sorry for ranting at this point). Anyway, I gave Khrystina her Gryffindor scarf and she absolutely loved it! She almost squealed when she saw it, like a fangirl that she normally is of certain manga and Harry Potter. And she wore it when we sang the second service and she was absolutely happy. I should've told her about the washing part, that she can't wash it.

I gave Mallory her hat and she loved it; she said it matched her Doctor Who scarf and she loved it, despite the missing of the earflaps :\ yeah, I have no idea what happened to the earflaps. Mom didn't want to put them on because it was too short.

Me now? I got an ornament from Khrystina, I think she painted herself, and it was a deer. I was generally happy. I can't wait to hang it up next Christmas when the tree comes back up. Mallory got me a stationary, personalized, set, with K on the front. She says it's for my calligraphy and I was also thankful. Susie didn't give me anything; she said my birthday present was a combo.

So we opened presents at eleven AM. And I got so many stuff! Candy, first of all, Tru Calling season 2 on DVD, Ghost Hunters on DVD, The Outsiders Special Edition DVD, lots of Angel books filled with Doyle, so I'm happy. If it's Doyle, I'm happy. (For those of you who don't know, my icon is Doyle. And I love it. It's the best one I ever made, in my opinion). So, now that I have all the Angel books filled with Doyle, I think I'm done with collecting Angel books, unless it's a crossover. I have all these books, Buffy/Angel 'verse related and otherwise, so one of my New Year's Resolution is getting through all those books first and then continue to collect.

Actually, I find that there aren't that many Angel books out there. I mean, there are more Buffy related books, and much newer and better ones, like Queen of the Slayers, for example, which I hadn't read yet (or own) but I hear is very, very awesome. I'm excited about that. And then the Spike book--I heard that was great also. Umm...they revamped the Buffy/Angel magazine, and it now has book reviews, which I love. I should write them and tell them that, on second thought...

so what else did I get? Bathrobe, pillow (which I think is the case I slept in unitl 8 o'clock this morning), two great CDs (Armageddon score, go Trevor Rabin, and the Bon Jovi album Have A Nice Day), an Alexandre Dumas novel, a VHS/DVD thing/recorder, an ornament, calender, and other stuff. I got this very beautiful cross that hangs on a necklace that my aunt picked up in Italy. I absolutely love it; I need to find a chain to hang it on. It's so beautiful, though, I'm afraid to hang it up almost.

So, that was my Christmas. Lot's of handmade/cheap/gotten at lowest price off Amazon (really) presents but that were ordered with love. (I know that sounded cheesy, don't tell me that.)

Well, I'm off to listen to The Signal podcast, best Firefly podcast ever. Listen to it.

School Tomorrow
Good-bye, last day of freedom! Good-bye days of watching Buffy, Angel and Firefly! And good-bye Christmas lights :) I'll miss those sparkly little lights people still have up on their houses.

Yeah, school starts back up tomorrow. Which means I have to bike in the cold morning again...going uphill to school, again...

On the other hand, I am so nervous about school starting back up. I don't think I can make it tomorrow morning...

But, here's a bonus: today, I was parentless! From 7 to 3, though. Mom and Dad had to go to school to teach. Apparently, the Santa Ana school district doesn't believe in no school on Monday, which makes me happy that I attend the Tustin school district.

Okay, getting nervous again...it's weird...I'm nervous because school starts back up tomorrow, yet I can't wait to see my friends.

I have absolutely nothing to do...except update my homepage (hmm...maybe I'll do that...). For the next two days (Sunday and Monday), I'm going to try to cram everything I want to do in before school starts (which is Tuesday). So far, I already watched Twister (which I will watch again tonight because it's just too good to pass up), Freaky Friday (I need a light movie after Twister), and the Pirates of the Caribbean. Tomorrow I'll probably watch A Knight's Tale, Chance, some episodes of Buffy season 5, Angel season 1, and Firefly season 1. Then I'll do my homework and listen to all my favorate CD's before Tuesday comes. Yep...I'm gonna be busy...

I don't want school to start back up...I like this Christmas break...for once, let me get an extra day of break I deserve... :( and returning to the biking in the morning will be the hardest part of returning to school, besides trying to remember my locker cominations.

Today my brother and I went over to Susie's house for lunch. It was pretty good. Soup, burritos, and curly fries (I loved the curly fries, though). Also three cats and Super Smash Brothers (on Nintendo, not Gamecube. Man, I used to have a Nintendo. And I constantly played Super Smash Brothers when I had it. Today when I picked up the Nintendo controller, my mind blanked. I forgot how to play it (not the game, but the controller) because the Nintendo controller is really different from the Gamecube controller).

So basically, today was good.
