So (notice how I start some of my sentences with 'so' or 'apparantly' or 'anyway'? Results of an uneducated mind, or, at least, a person who has been out of school for about two weeks now) there's this fire in Lake Tahoe. At Lake Tahoe (darn grammer!)
And as you all know...or rather, not know, I always go to Lake Tahoe with my family for a big family reunion at Lake Tahoe. Specifically Zephyr Cove. Just in case anyone wants to stalk me and, you know, maybe kill me. Which I have high faith in all of you guys, my friends, that none of you are crazy stalkers :) because, hey, why would you be?
So now I'm sort of praying that the fire won't destroy our cabin we always manage to rent. 'Cause if it does? Sadness.
On the other hand, the parents have always been grappling about going to ,Lake Tahoe. And Kelly always hates going. So it could be a joyous occasion for Kelly (I can already hear him saying 'yay'). But me? Darn it, I like the casinos (I don't play; my dad plays. The slot machines), the nights when some of the family watches a movie, the arts and crafts Aunt Kathleen brings, the card games with grandma, the sleeping in a room with Merry snoring, the wildlife (especially the chipmunks), the beach, the water, the large dinners and cleaning up the kitchen afterwards, the Blues Brothers statues there, the shops. I like it all. And the long car drive to there because a) I want to drive someway there and b) I get a lot of reading done and c) I like long car trips. They're relaxing, fun, and a chance to curl up with your pillow and sleep away. And there's extreme snacking, rather unhealthly, of M&M's and whatnot, so that's always fun.
So yeah...sort of praying hear. Not that I know where Zephyr Cove is in relations to Meyers, California, but still: it's bad for anyone there and I'm praying for that.
As for Alaska: I've been to Alaska. Some areas are so destitute (or whatever is the word for 'not a lot of people; tiny population'). Plus it's cold up there. I'm sure they'll have no trouble containing that fire.
