So last Saturday I had planned to start on the TV Tropes challenge for
tvrealm. But then--amidst all the awesome tropes I read about--I sort of forgot about that and ended up, somehow, watching a clip from Whose Line Is It Anyway on Youtube (which was actually related to a trope from the TV tropes page so it wasn't entirely random).
This then led to me watching other clips from the show.
And now? Well, I'm re-watching the show. I found all the episodes on Youtube and these past few days I've just watched episodes from the show. I'm almost finished with season 1.
The part that makes me go '0_0' is that there's a fandom for this show. Really. I'm simultaneously excited and...kind of a little bit weirded out, I guess, because there's a fandom for it. (But I really shouldn't be too surprised--there's a fandom for Top Gear, after all.)
Re-watching the show has gotten me all nostalgic, because I used to watch the show back when I was in high school. Not religiously, of course, but a few episodes here and there.
But yeah, the whole point of this story is I just love how I had gone to the TV Tropes page for something else and ended up doing something else entirely different.
I also had a paper that had been due this past Tuesday and a midterm today in art history. Yesterday I couldn't study at all because I just wanted to watch Whose Line. Then this morning in anthro class I figured I'd study.
Now, I'm not sure if the test was easy hard (where it's hard and you don't know anything at all and so you think it's easy--like every math test I took) or if it was easy easy (where it was just easy and you can't believe it was that easy and so you think that maybe you actually didn't do all that well). It was just...easy. IDK. I hope I did well. It just seemed easy to me. Maybe I just knew the material really well.
And anthro class--oh god, I hate it 0_0 the class is interesting, it's just the teacher is dragging all this stuff that we're supposed to learn. It's week 5 but it still feels as if it's the first week in that class. I feel as if I haven't learned anything and that the class hasn't really moved at all.
Russian--apparently all languages (except Spanish) are getting cut by 50%, which means there'll be not 2A-2B-2C sequence starting this fall. Now, the school of humanities requires that a person takes a language up to the class 2C. I'm in Russian 1B at the moment. The only option for me is taking an intensive 8 week course at UCLA that would fulfill that 2A-2B-2C sequence. (Though there's also studying abroad in Russia for four months in the fall but I don't want to do that.)
I saw the new Being Human episode this past Sunday.
( Spoilers for Being Human season 4 )
Oh, and then randomly over the weekend I decided that I wanted to re-watch Highlander. I had shown an episode to some friends last month (the first episode of season 1--remind me not to do that again. They all thought it was cheesy and silly and not that good of a show--maybe I should have shown them an episode from season 2) and that sort of made me miss the show. Maybe this time I'll actually watch all of season 3--for some reason I've always been able to get past the first two seasons but I've never gone farther than that, besides for watching some random episodes from later seasons that had good plots involving Richie. (As such, I've never really understood the appeal of Methos, because Richie was my favorite character when I was young and so I never saw enough episodes that had Methos in them to form an accurate opinion of him. Which ties into the whole I never really watched season 3 and above--because back then I only wanted to watch the episodes that had Richie in them.)
I decided to skip most of season 1 and start just from season 2 because I felt like it.
One thing that surprises me this time around watching Highlander: I actually like Tessa. IDK. In the past I found her annoying but now she seems awesome. I guess this is one of those examples of how opinions can change over time when you get older.
