Well, school's started back up again.
It only the first week of the quarter and already I feel overwhelmed by my classes lol. Apparently I heard from a classmate today that the Russian teacher is planning to retire--though he hopes that she'll stay around for one more year to teach us up to the 2C class (also, I need to take that class. Language classes at UCI go 1A, 1B, and 1C and then 2A, 2B, and 2C. And I need to fulfill the language requirement for the school of humanities).
Other than that, school is going well. So far. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be the death of me because I have an 8 AM class those days and then a class right after that one at 9:30. I know it's not high school and I won't get marked tardy if I'm late, but I'm still worried about being late to the second class, because the first is on one side of the campus and the other is on the other side.
Though if I cut across the park then I should make it, I think, in time for the second class.
(UCI has a round campus. Really. The road that goes around it is called the Ring Road. Fitting, since one of the dormitories for freshmen is Middle Earth.)
Anyway, last week I re-watched the film Midnight Cowboy and now I'm trying to watch all the good films that Dustin Hoffman has been in. I've already re-watched Tootsie, and I've downloaded Marathon Man (dude, the guy from Jaws is in it! The one with the glasses whose name I momentarily forgot), and I got Last Chance Harvey and Papillon from Netflix. IDK which to watch first, but LCH is shorter than Papillon (maybe I'll save Papillon for Friday--it also has Steve McQueen in it! Yeah, I added the disc to my queue earlier last year only because Hoffman and McQueen were both in it. For some reason I get all giddy and geeky happy when there's a film with actors in it that I admire--like The Towering Inferno, which I watched simply because Paul Newman and Steve McQueen were both in it).
The other Friday I hung out with my friend and we played the Monty Python Fluxx card game, which, IMO, is probably the best card game that has ever been invented thus far, only because one of the action cards for the game has you speaking in an outrageous accent (another has the rule that if you sing a song from Monty Python, you get to draw an extra card). I'm tempted to get a pack for myself--but the only problem with that is my family isn't the type that plays board games and cards and such, so if I get it it'll probably go untouched.
We also played a round of Scene It and I actually won. My friend was quite annoyed, especially during the last part when it was focused on the film 12 Angry Men--I've only seen it once and she's seen it a few times and I managed to guess all the answers correctly and won.
(But really, I just had amazing guessing skills during that game. In fact, I'm stunned I managed to guess correctly all the answers related to the 12 Angry Men film.)
I got L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition. (I have the regular one already. I just wanted the complete edition because it was complete.) I really want to play it but I know if I do I'll just be so addicted to it that I probably won't stop and I really should get to bed early tonight if I want to wake up at 5 AM tomorrow morning (I am not a morning person at all). I also recently bought Mass Effect, which is better than Dragon Age so far. It's less RPG and more first person shooter, which I really like. I hated the RPG aspect of Dragon Age and that's the reason I'm so annoyed with DA. But I also guess it's because Mass Effect is sci-fi and I sort of like sci-fi stuff better than fantasy (kind of. I think I like both equally but I tend to favor sci-fi shows, books, movies, etc. more than fantasy).
I'm bored. I feel like doing a meme but I don't know which meme to do--only because I don't know which ones are out there (maybe I'll look through my tags and see if I can't steal any memes I did and just re-do them).
