It's been such a long time since I updated with anything fandom-y. So I figured this post could be a fandom post, in which I'll express my love for new fandoms.
( Red Dwarf )
I've also played some games recently--last month (okay, this one isn't recently) I played L.A. Noire (and I finished the game in less than under a week from when I bought it--which is a record for me. But then I wasn't in school so...) and fell in love with that game.
And just a couple days ago I played Portal for the first time (it was free on Steam. My brother told me about it and told me how I should get it and how can I say no to a free game which I've heard great things about? And those great things are true--Portal, while short in that I could probably play and finish it in a day if I had nothing else to do, is really a great game. It's not like Bioshock with the FPS aspect or RPG like Dragon Age, and at this point I know I'm probably abusing some game terms, but Portal is different from those two games.
It's almost relaxing, in a way. Sort of.
Although I loved the twist near the end of the game :D
( Doctor Who )
Other than that, I haven't been watching any more 'new' shows. I'm thinking of catching up with NCIS: Los Angeles, although part of me doesn't really want to.
(And I'm one of those people who has to be in the mood to watch something. If I can't look forward to watching a show on DVD then there's a safe bet that I won't be able to concentrate on the show. Take Farscape for example--I recently finished season 1. It took me more than a year to do so. I like the show. I really do.
Okay, there were some episodes in the first season that had me sort of bored and weren't that good.
But part of it was that there were some days I was in the mood to watch it and some other days when I wasn't in the mood to watch it. And usually those days when I wasn't in the mood to watch Farscape I was, in all likelihood, probably focused on an entirely new fandom or show or movie.
Which brings me to my second point: I'm going through different fandoms now like there's no tomorrow but I have yet found one to actually settle on. In the past the fandoms I truly settled on where those where I either wrote fanfiction for, or made icons out of, or even wallpaper. The fandoms I'm interested in now I'm just not really settling on.
(In case you're curious, the fandoms in the past were Buffy, Angel, Supernatural--for a bit, and mostly for two seasons, Life on Mars, and Inception.
All the other shows I like are just shows I watch and ones which I don't feel inspire to write fanfiction or make icons out of.)
TL;DR--basically, I'm feeling creatively uninspired by the shows I watch.
And just last night I had this overwhelming urge to re-watch Angel season 5 :/ IDEK.
But if it'll help me feel inspired to write fanfiction or make icons then I'll re-watch it. After I finished Red Dwarf.
