I was enjoying the wonder that is Netflix and thought to myself, 'Hmm, maybe they have The Man From U.N.C.L.E. available to rent!' They didn't. Then I thought to myself, 'Hmm, what about Are You Afraid of the Dark?' They didn't.
:) Though because I thought of Are You Afraid of the Dark?, I remembered how much I loved that show when I was young (seriously. I remember this one episode that just scared me into oblivion. Well, not really, but I was frightened, and I loved being frightened) and thought to search for them, see if they're out on DVD. They are. (Finally, something goes right!) So I broke down and decided to by seasons 1-4 on Ebay because a) the ones on Amazon? Cost too much. Ones on EBay? Didn't. Plus on EBay they were sold in packs, you know, seasons 1-5 all together. But for like $129, which was way too much, especially if the shipping and handling was $25. So I grabbed my handy dandy calculator (great, now I have Blues Clues flashing through my mind...'handy dandy notebook!' *grimaces* that show was good, actually, but it reminds me of the time my mom babysat for a bunch of screaming and crying kids) and figured if I ordered the seasons separately than in a pack I would be saving so much money. And I did.
Okay. So. Yay! Are You Afraid of the Dark? DVDs!
And, just because I was thinking of AYAotD, I finally remembered the Disney show So Weird, and how I loved that show when I was young (okay, so I think that began my Buffy liking phase...actually I couldn't get into Buffy at first; I was too young. And then my parents were watching the first episode of season 6 and I saw Spike and I immediately thought, 'Who is that guy?' So Spike actually initiated my Buffy-watching/obsessing phase. Which I'm sort of over...I'm not obsessing with it quite so much now...I don't need to, like, buy every Buffy book there is, but it is nice to remember it once in a while...). Too bad So Weird isn't on DVD; I would kill to watch that show again. (Although there is this guy on the So Weird IMDB message boards claiming to have DVDs of the show, copied from TV, for $30 and very good quality. I e-mailed him about the DVDs, he gave me the info. I'm sort of scared to e-mail him back begging to buy the DVDs, but I'll do it sometime tomorrow.)(Or tonight.)(Because, hey, I have a credit card. I can buy anything I want.)(Well, I know I can, but I have this thing about not spending too much on it.)(Yet I do anyway...)
On Wednesday I went to Kohl's (is that how it's spelled?) with my mom and neighbor and shopped. I bought some boots that looked quite Abby-ish. It's like I saw them and thought, 'Abby would wear those!' (Hee, NCIS was on the USA channel today...) Good thing they fit me well. They were a bit tight at first; the laces were tied too tight. But after some adjusting, I finally came to the conclusion that they fit right and so now I have a brand new pair of boots. (And oh my gosh they were so cheap. Like $12.99 cheap. Kohl's has the best sales ever...)
And then on Wednesday the new couch and rocking chair came. We gave away our old couch that we had ever since I can remember and got a new couch. So now the living room looks emptier, but much better than before.
That's pretty much it with me updating...news...and stuff...so I'll just go...good night.
