I was reading back on my old journal entries from late 2006, and it seems as if I posted a lot during those days when I was in high school as opposed to now.  I blame me being in college.  Because when I was in high school, a lot more interesting things happened, and in college, I go there.  I come back home...I do non-interesting stuff...I miss high school almost.  (And then I laugh at them because college offers so much more freedom.  But I miss high school for the most part...the hanging with the friends and talking to them part, and the laughing from Eric's jokes part...)

It is officially Friday.  And it is officially the end of the writer's strike.  (Still need to offer my 'yay's'.  Yay!  Okay, 'yay' offered...)  And it is officially the end of the first week of spring semester of college.  Now it's time to do my regular review of the classes I have.

First off is Intro to Theatre.  Thankfully it's not acting.  Which I'm grateful for.  Anyway, the class seems interesting.  I'm looking forward to more of the class.  The teacher also seems interesting.  Very knowledgable about the subject...so for this class it's required to see two plays for the class.  (My brother's taking Music 101, and he has to go to two concerts.  I don't know why I'm so amused at that, but I am, because he has to go to two concerts for one of his classes, and I have to go to two plays for my class...I find that very ironic.)  So anyway, looking forward to this class.

Next up is math.  Specifically trigonometry.  Because it's been so long since I've been in math (not really.  I was out of it for the fall semester and just last summer.  Which in my mind is a long time since I've been in math but...yeah...I'm tired right now...okay).  And I thought I'd forgotten everything there was to know about math, but surprisingly I haven't.  Which I'm happy for, so whenever the teacher talks about sine/cosine/tangent of angles, I actually know what he's talking about.  And he seems like a great teacher.  Reminds me of Bohen.  Except Bohen was far funnier...this guy, the guy teaching math class, seems like he understands math enough to be teaching the subject well enough.  I think the word I'm going for is passionate.  He seems like he likes and knows the subject well enough.  Yeah, so I like math class.  It's a good class.

Then I have Geology 101.  And the teacher...*groans* he sometimes gets off the subject and says something and then says, 'Hey, this reminds me of this one episode of The Simpsons where something happens and something else happens...'  The last class he referenced The Simpson three times.  And at the end of those three times I was wishing he wouldn't reference The Simpsons any longer.  Hopefully I'll like the class, because at this point I'm sort of...'eh' on it.  Yeah...and plus it's in the U buildings, which are portables, which are at the opposite end of the college campus, so I'm just walking from the library to the portables.  Pretty good excerise, though, I think.  (I have this, like, hour and 15 minute break between math and geology, which I spend in the library, reading books.  The first time, though, I had to go back home, seeing as on Tuesday I drove to college in the morning without my wallet...and then I drove home, drove back, had to find a parking space.  Which finding parking spaces?  Not at all fun.  I had to silently stalk a person...okay, not stalk, but search for people walking away from college to their car.  And I found a person, thankfully.  But other than that?  Parking is a nightmare...at least for the first few weeks, or so I heard.)

Then on Tuesday afternoons I have the Geology lab, which ties into the class.  Hopefully I'll like it.  Because I'm just taking the lab to fulfill the 'you must take a lab with a science class' requirement.

Okay, then Wednesday night is the Shakespeare class.  Which seems fun.  I think I will honestly enjoy it.  If I don't have to analyze Shakespeare.  (Because, come on, analyzing is so...you know, who know's what Shakespeare or another author was thinking when he wrote a scene?  Maybe he just though, 'Ooh, this sounds fun!  I'll write this!'  I am so totally against analyzing.  I'd rather bring an author back to life and ask what a scene from their book meant, or asked what something stood for, or something like that.)  The first night of class we watched an episode of Moonlighting, this old show that had Bruce Willis in it.  And the episode was a parody of The Taming of the Shrew.  So that night was fun.  And Khrystina's in the class with me, which makes it all the more funner.  And the midterm is April 23rd, which is a night that I have tech week for the musical at church, so that's going to be even more fun, and is something I have to bring up with Khrystina next time I meet her, because, hey, it's during a night of tech week!  *sighs* I'm one of those people who just get worried about being late to class.  Or missing something other people go to.  (Like I'm going to this Supernatural convention later in March, and on Sunday I get to miss choir rehearsal just to go to the convention.  Part of me doesn't want to miss the rehearsal, but the other part doesn't want to miss the convention.  I want to go to choir rehearsal, but I want to go to the convention, but I want to go to rehearsal...but I already bought my tickets but I don't want to miss rehearsal, but convention...yeah, that's me.)

So I have to have a little talk with Khrystina and find out what to do.  If things come to worse, I'll have to miss one night of tech week.

Then Thursday is the same as Tuesday except for the afternoon where I have History of Film from 1945-Present.  And the teacher seems much more interesting than the one I had for intersession, which is a major improvement.  Plus it's not everyday.  So that's better.  And so hopfully I won't find myself nodding off to sleep in the class.  (Hopefully I don't.  Because on Thursday afternoon I was majorly tired from walking around and such.)

So that was my first week of college, and, hey, I already have homework!  (You know, I found myself being more nervous attending the first day of a year of high school than I do for college.  I don't know if that's because I'm in college and that I'm less nervous or what...I just don't find myself being nervous about going to the first day of college.  So go me!  I don't get nervous anymore about first day of classes/school!)

And thus endeth this journal entry.
