So I've been gone ever since the end of June. And for what reason? Well, the number one reason is that summer is too much fun; what better way to spend it than off the Internet? (Okay, so I've been watching TV. Which is the reason why I haven't been on the Internet. But I've also been reading books :) many books. Mostly Harry Potter.)
The second reason why I would be off the Internet a lot is because I'm working on my story. My Doyle fic that I started back in what? '04? '05? I forgot which year, but it was a long time ago. And, because I'm under pressure from my friend, I've also been updating it daily on fanfiction.net. And I don't have that many reviews but I guess that's to be expected seeing as I haven't updated it in many months. So that's what I'm doing (and this fanfiction? 96 pages. Maybe it's just me. But this is the longest story I have ever written so far. I'm so passionate about finishing it; in fact, there may be a sequel.)
And so because I'm writing the story I need to get Doyle back in my head because the story? Pretty much with the angst factor. Angel's gone angsty, Doyle's gone all angsty--and I need to tone it down some and so I've been watching the Angle episodes with Doyle to get his not-so-angsty voice in my head.
Then I realized, while doing that, that maybe it would also be good if I got out every Angel book I own that has Doyle in it. And I have just about all of them, all the Doyle-centered Angel books. Except for that one with Doyle's father and demon heritage which I still need to get probably for Lake Tahoe I'll order it with my own money (which reminds me I need to cash in the checks I got for graduation). And so I'll go on a reading/quick scanning spree. Just to get me back in touch with the character of Doyle. I call it research. Very fun research.
And for my Harry Potter/Stargate SG-1 crossover I'm doing research by watching the Stargate movie. And while doing this I've realized that the Daniel from the movie and the Daniel from the show look sort of similiar. But mom disagrees. And I disagree with her because they do look similiar.
So to get on the topic of my mom. You know what she did recently? Order The Man From U.N.C.L.E...pirated DVDs of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. I confronted her and asked, "What if they're in crappy quality?" And she answered, "I read off a friend's journal that they aren't in crappy quality."
And then I asked, "Are there any special features on it?"
She didn't know.
Which makes me want to ask her what she was thinking when she ordered it because the offical DVDs with special features will come out in what? this year/next year? And then she said she had her doubts about ordering it as well.
*sigh* I don't know; maybe we'll still get the offical Man from U.N.C.L.E. DVDs when they come out. Hopefully.
Also I saw the Transformers movie. Guess who was in it? Tom Lenk. A.K.A. Andrew from Buffy. And I recognized him the second time he was on screen. I wanted him to have more screen time but alas that didn't not happen. Which left me sort of sad and downcast (but I loved the first line he ever said, about feeling underdressed. That was so Andrew).
So see Transformers. It was really good and keep a look out on Tom Lenk/Andrew. Because he's funny/fun/cute.
