Recently I've taken up knitting, and now I want to knit the hat worn by Jayne in the episode The Message. I found the instructions on the Internet, and mom got the yarn today. But the problem is that I have to thicken the wool (the pattern calls for thick virigin wool. Mom couldn't find any, so she got thin virgin wool). Now I have to, in some way, make two balls out of the 340 yards of wool.

...

This'll undoubtedly take me all afternoon to do this and figure out how to divide the wool equally.

That, plus currently acoustic guitar is making me crazy as I have no idea how to play it. I mean, what are those large letters, such as C and D, doing up on top of the bars? What are we supposed to play: the notes or the big letters?

I'll go search on the Internet to solve that problem.

Update on knitting
Well, the knitting is going great...okay, I haven't begun knitting, per se (or whatever the French expression is for that and update: I just learned it's a Latin expression :| when I begin slipping on languages, especially Latin, then I so need to go back to school and into that Latin class), but rather winding the yarn up into great big huge balls of yarn and then weighing it (mom suggested that--it makes it easier than measuring it) and then winding it again until the balls are approximately equal in both size and weight, and then cutting it, to separate the two balls of yarn.

I just did the yellow, and now the orange is on it's way to become all winded up. I think, if all goes well, I can finish the red tomorrow if I do it in the morning and after driving (for an hour--last time with the instructor--yay!). And then I can start knitting once I decipher the instructions (not that they're difficult to read--it's just obviously hard for me to decrease and I haven't worked with circular needles before).

Okay, that's the story of my knitting :D Mom told me that the yellow, orange, and red were all in this bin, where all the yarn in that bin were on sale, and they were together that mom said, to paraphrase her, 'It meant to happen.' So, it's like it meant to happen for me to knit me up a Jayne hat and wear it to the premiere of Serenity. Hmm...
