Today was good...thought this week, because of Daylight Savings Time, is going way too slow...new Tru Calling this week, and plus I watched 24 tonight (taped it yesterday). I didn't know that the ending was going to be so awesome (awesome as in 'wow! jack failed to stop the badguy!' and awesome as in 'wow!'). I can't wait for next week's episode.

Got farther in The Restaurant at the End of the Universe...I nearly laughed out loud at a couple of sections:

"Look," he said again, "imagine this napkin, right, as the temporal Universe, right? And this spoon as a transductional mode in the matter curve..."
It took him a while to say this last part, and Arthur hated to interrupt him.
"That's the spoon I was eating with," he said.
"All right," said Ford, "imagine this spoon"-he found a small wooden spoon on a tray of relishes-"this spoon"-but found it rather tricky to pick up-"no, better still this fork..."
"Hey, would you let go of my fork?" snapped Zaphod.

That section had me rolling with laughter (see, Ford was drunk, and I just imagined it playing out in my mind, the way he did it...he attempted to use a wineglass for the temporal Universe, but he knocked it over.)

And this section was funny:

"But I'm quite used to being humiliated," droned Marvin, "I can even go and stcik my head in a bucket of water if you like. Would you like me to go and stick my head in a bucket of water? I've got one ready. Wait a minute."
"Er, hey, Marvin..." interrupted Zaphod, but it was too late. Sad little clunks and gurgles came up the line.
"What's he saying?" asked Trillian.
"Nothing," said Zaphod, "he just phoned to wash his head at us."

That was extremely funny...okay, one more:

"The best conversation I had was over forty million years ago," continued Marvin.
Again the pause.
"Oh d-"
"And that was with a coffee machine."

I feel sorry for robot Marvin...he's ignored so often...
